Branch structure of gross national product: on a share of an agriculture it is accounted for more than 44%, sphere of services — 33%, the industries — 18%, constructions — 4,8%.

Despite of the growth which has outlined last years in separate industries, basically an export orientation, its role in Kirghizia is insignificant. The structure of industrial production has essentially changed. On the first place nonferrous metallurgy (35%) was put forward. On the second place the fuel and energy complex (17%) is kept. Further follows food (about 14%), light industry (9%), mechanical engineering (9%), and the industry of building materials (7%). Manufacture of nonferrous metals in Batkenckya areas (extraction and manufacture of antimony, mercury) is most developed. Rather new branch is gold ore (combines «Macmalzoloto», «Кumtorzoloto»). The fuel and energy complex substantially leans on a hydro energy potential: about 80% of the electric power it is made on Hydroelectric Power Station. Kirghizia almost has no own resources of oil and gas. In the middle of 90th in Dzhalal Abad by means of the Canadian firm the oil refining factory by perspective capacity nearby 500 thousand tones a year has been constructed. The light industry basically is guided by own raw material. The woollen and tanning industries have essential value. Southern Kirghizia is allocated by cottonconverting complex, the silk industry.

Development of animal industries advances in Kirghizia on cost indexes plant growing. Only 53% of territory of the country can be used for agriculture. Arable lands make 13% from this area.

Kirghizia takes 3 place (after Russia and Kazakhstan) on a livestock of sheep (3,3 million) and to manufacture of a wool. A livestock of horses in Kirghizia is considerably high — 300 thousand. Pig and poultry farming are developed only in suburbs. Silkworm breeding practises in southern areas. Though agriculture in the majority of areas of the country has the subordinated value, on branch structure it is more various. Crops grain prevail (50%), the share in total amount fodder both commercial crops is significant. The potato and vegetables is took 3,5% of areas under crops. Cotton grows up in southern areas, tobacco in northwest and in the south, a sugar beet in the south. In northern and southern Kirghizia grapes are grown up, there are gardens.
